Delaware, we went there. That's it, short blog post. LOL

Killens Pond State Park
Ok, seriously, we did go to Delaware for 5 full days, and it was ok. With that shorter amount of time and with Tracey working all day, there wasn't a great deal of time to explore. What we got from Delaware was that it was a lot flatter than I thought it would be.
So we stayed at the Killens Pond State Park; it was a nice park from what we saw. There is a trail around the pond, and I did get to walk it and get a few pictures. I'd say it was a very easy walk; the trail is 2.6 miles, but with all my offshoots and wandering to find spots to photography. I think I did about 5 miles that day. There is also a bridge that is pedestrian and bicycles only. It was nice and skirted the road and hung over the pond. It looked like a great place to fish from.
One night as we walked around the pond, there was a youth group doing some sort of cross country treasure hunt kinda thing. And it looks like they have several activities, there is a waterpark (We didn't go, cause you don't want to see this in a speedo, lol). We didn't get to go to a nature center, but I noticed they have many activities for kids and families.
I know we wanted to get to the beach and really wanted to make it to Rehoboth. With Tracey working and not being able to go until after work but it never worked out. Instead, we just went to Slaughter Beach so Tracey could dip her toes in the water. With a name like Slaughter Beach, it kinda lived up to its name as there were horseshoe craps dead all over the place.

Slaughter Beach
We left Slaughter Beach and tried to get to Mispillion Lighthouse, but the road we were on was covered with water. So instead, we found a brewery with the name Mispillion River Brewing. As we pulled in, it was located in an industrial-looking complex. It was a weeknight and not too busy except for a few locals at the bar and a biker club outside. The atmosphere inside was fun and inviting; they had a lot of Star Wars references and regalia around. Tracey liked the War Llama, which was cool that she found a beer she liked, waahoo. I liked a few, such as the Key Lime Prime, a Sour Beer with Fruit Puree, yum. AND I also found an IPA I enjoyed - Pineapple Express, a Milkshake Style IPA. I've never heard of a milkshake style, then again, I'm not a fan of IPA's at all, but this one was good. So if you get the chance, stop into Mispillion River Brewing in Milford, DE.

Abbotts Mill in Infrared
A place I went to for a day was Abbotts Mill Nature Center. It was a beautiful place with a large pond and a historical interpretation area. They also had summer camps for kids and a nice boardwalk through the woods along a very slow-moving creek and wetland area. One problem I found was the trail system. Once crossing the street, there is a significant section with no markings until you happen to stumble on what looks like the trail. The other thing about the trails is there isn't one that went around the pond, so it was an out and back on the West Side of the pond. There are loops on the west side, but it would be nice to walk around the pond. And some of the loops from a photographic standpoint were kinda uninteresting, at least while I was there.

The bottom line would we go back to Delaware, possibly. We basically booked it because it was supposed to be our first "big" trip of a week. We ended up taking a big trip to Georgia and Tennessee. And if you want too find out more about who we are visit our about us page.
