While at the Hershey RV show here in 2021 we stumbled across a new layout and brand of Toy Hauler from Forrest River. While there we talked to a rep from the company who told us that they just made four units made for the show. He said that they weren’t on the schedule to be made for a few more months but got four made for the show and when we were there on Saturday three of the four were sold. So no doubt they sold the fourth, if we could’ve swung it we probably would’ve gotten the fourth. That is how much we liked this new rig.
Ok so what did we like?
- It had a nice big toy hauler (office area for us),
- A central vac,
- A ramp for a deck,
- Dan fit in the bathroom, There was
- A Murphy bed with a couch under it.
- The area around the bed had nice shelfs at the head of the bed in that curved area. You know the one in the closet that stuff gets stuffed and hard to access… yeah that one.
- We like that there are two doors one on each side of the unit.
- Dry weight is 5,758,
- it has large off road tires,
- A high clearance.
- There is a slide out for the kitchen/pantry.
- In the garage/office there is a cabinet that Dan’s shirts will actually hang and not curl under at the bottom.
- The door to the garage is a sliding door, it provides more room than a swinging door.
- There is a hook type thing on the outside that you can mount a grill or table.
- Comes with solar, battery and inverter. That is nice to us to get started and not just prepped.
- We like that the paint isn’t some God awful swirly crazy colors, and has a simple paint theme.

Things we didn’t like:
- Crickets… as in not much
- Well ok a down side is the kitchen counter could be a bit bigger.
- The couch could be higher, especially with Dan’s height.
Neither are really deal breakers and from an affordability side it is HIGH on our list.

Ok from the website the standard specs are:
- Azdel construction
- Largest-In-Class Refrigerator on all floor-plans
- Solar system with large panel, controller, and 1000W inverter
- Cold Weather Package: heated and enclosed underbelly, tank pad heaters, and enclosed termination system
- 15K A/C
- PVC roof with 15-year warranty
- All terrain tires and increased ground clearance
- JBL wireless Bluetooth audio system
- Central vacuum system
- 12V, 32” television
- Rhino-Rack RTV tracks
- Panoramic front window
- Seamless countertops
- Stainless steel appliances
- Outside cooktop
We were told that they should be in the line for construction is summer of 2022 and we can’t wait. Now if something comes along better we might go with it but the Ibex is very high on our list. What do you think about the Ibex? Check out the site for more information here.
